A great building starts with a strong foundation; the same can be said for the builder.

Starting with a strong foundation of family mentors who grew up and dedicated their lives to the craft of construction. From Grandpa Ron Kurtz & “Papa” Richard Pellicer to their dad John Kurtz, these men passed along the importance of family business and dedication to creating quality buildings. -Both Matt and Brittany started going to the job sites with their dad from the moment they were born. Growing up with a dad in construction meant job sites and trips to Home Depot became their playgrounds. They learned almost anything is possible as they watched their dad turn not only their dreams, but his clients dreams, into reality

Matt and Brittany both started working with their dad and his company, Kur-Star Construction, as soon as they could. Through John they learned the importance of quality work as well as integrity and dedication when it comes to clients.

John battled for years with his health but never wavered in his commitment to his clients and their projects. Arguably the most important thing Matt and Brittany learned through their dad was utter determination no matter what gets thrown at them, which they continue to carry into their business.

After John passed in 2015, Matt and Brittany decided to continue in his footsteps and teamed up with Matt’s father-in-law to create Kurco Construction in 2016.

Jason also spent his life dedicated to quality construction through his tile and flooring company, Jason’s Tile & Flooring. He himself also learned this importance of family business as he learned his craft through his father, Robert Green.

Once again Matt & Brittany were reminded of what unwavering preservation looks like as Jason developed his own health problems, passing away in 2023. Despite facing terminal illness, he forged ahead with his business & life till the end.

Matt and Brittany are continuing to forge ahead, taking the lessons and skills they’ve learned from the hardworking and steadfast men who helped shape their lives and the way they run Kurco.
